Fun Family Weekend.....
This was a fun family weekend. We started off Friday with having dinner with Ampa, Grammy Rose and my Aunt Debbie. I didn't get any pictures though. They took Aniston shopping and got her a "big girl" pool. You'll see it in upcoming photos. Saturday we went to a BBQ at Tio Cruz's for Abuelita's birthday. Erik's grandparents are here from Texas for a bit so they threw a big BBQ for them. Erik's big sister Brandy and her two kids, Justice and Gunner, came down from Spokane....but I was a horrible Auntie and didn't get any pictures.

"Women's Soup".....
Aniston got a large kiddie pool for the backyard and was intent on getting in it. She wanted to wear her "women's soup" (swimming suit).

Aniston Update.....
Yesterday Aniston was using her hand all day. She was pulling doors shut, holding a cup and playing like a normal kid. The only time she complained about her "owie" was when she was trying to bounce a ball. So she's on the mend!

Our First Emergency Room Visit......
What a weekend! And not a good one by ANY means! Saturday started off at 3:00 am when Aniston awoke vomiting from coughing so hard. We were up then until her one hour nap around 3:00 pm. Ampa and Grammy then called asking if they could take Aniston to run errands with them so they could see her. I told them okay so they came by to pick her up. Aniston decided she wasn't going anywhere without mommy so off the four of us went to run some errands. We were walking through Fred Meyer, I was holding Aniston's hand, when she tripped. I pulled her hand up so she wouldn't hit the concrete and that's when it happened.....I felt her wrist pop and she started screaming. Aniston cries when she's hurt, little scrapes and bruises here and there, but she only cries for a few seconds. Twenty minutes later....she's still screaming and won't let me look at her wrist. I knew something was seriously wrong so Ampa and Grammy rushed us to the emergency room. Thank god for Erik because he met us there and was the strong one who stayed in the room with her when the doctor was trying to pop her wrist back in. Apparently her injury is called a "nurse maids" injury and it's very common and in fact the doctor's daughter had a it happen a few weeks prior when she was holding his wife's hand and tripped. After about 5 minutes of trying to pop her wrist (and her screaming), they decided to give her some vicoden and take some xrays. Aniston was much more cooperative/higher than a kite after the vicoden kicked in. The xrays came back clear so the doctor tried to pop it again, this time with a little more force. It still wouldn't pop and she was refusing to use her left hand. After some discussion, the doctor decided to put her arm in a cast for the weekend and have her pediatrician look at her Monday morning. She was so pitiful looking with that little cast. It went from her fingers to her shoulder and it was all of 8 inches long. They also gave her a sling, a tiny little one covered in dinosaurs, that she called her "purse". Saturday night we got home around 10:00 and she went to sleep around midnight. She slept for about 5 hours and the same Sunday night. Yesterday, Monday, we went and saw Dr. Milnes (the best pediatrician in the world) and he removed the cast. He said her wrist must have popped back in on the way to the ER and that she should be 100 percent within the week. She's started using her left hand for little things but won't pick up anything heavy or bear any weight on it yet. Last night we were finally back to normal with Aniston in her bed and mommy and daddy in theirs. Unfortunately now she is much more prone to having this wrist pop out again until she's bigger and her bones stronger. My mom and I were talking and she said she was so lucky that I was never hurt. I however, can't say the same thing. I felt horrible that I did this to her but Erik has convinced me it would have happened if Ampa or Grammy were holding her hand. I can honestly say, with our little dare devil, I don't think this will be our last visit to the ER.
(We got a few pictures of her in her cast that I will post later.)
